Frequently Asked Questions
Are you accepting new patients? YES! We welcome referrals of your friends, family, and associates. Please call for more information.
Can you accommodate emergencies? YES! We save time in our schedule each day for emergencies, but this time does fill up quickly. So, if you have an emergency, please call as soon as possible so we can accommodate your needs.
Where are you located? We are in the city of Hopewell, so we are minutes away from many localities including Hopewell, Prince George, Chester, Colonial Heights, Petersburg, and Fort Lee. We have many patients who come from Richmond, Dinwiddie, Suffold, Spring Grove, and other parts of Virginia.
Do you take my insurance? We accept most forms of regular (indemnity) dental insurance, and most PPO plans allow you to come to the dentist of your choice. We are "in-network", or participate with Delta Dental Premier and Anthem. Even if we are not "in-network" with your plan, your insurance will most likely still contribute their portion of payment on your visit with us. We are happy to call your insurance to get benefit details for you. Please contact us if you have any questions about your insurance coverage.
Is this covered by my dental insurance? Every insurance company provides different levels of benefits, and even within the same insurance company there are hundreds of different groups with varying benefits based on what your employer has selected. Many plans cover most of your regular hygiene care and exams. Most plans cover only a percentage of all other work. Please consult with your insurance company for a rundown of benefits including co-insurance and deductibles. We can also call your insurance company to get this rundown for you. This will enable us to give you an estimate of your portion of payment. You are ultimately responsible for any portion of your care not covered by your insurance.
Why do I still owe a portion even though I have dental insurance? As stated above, most insurance companies cover your dental procedures based on a percentage breakdown. A typical insurance covers close to 90-100% of regular hygiene care, close to 70-80% of basic work such as fillings, periodontal (gum) care, endodontics (root canals), and extractions, and close to 50% of major services such as crowns, bridges, and dentures. However, these percentages are based on different rates and are also subject to applicable deductibles and yearly maximum payouts. We are happy to give you a treatment estimate of proposed care, and we will also try to work with your insurance company to provide a reasonable estimate for your portion of payment prior to care. However, please understand that this is an estimate, and that you are ultimately responsible for any portion of payment not covered by your insurance company.
Can I make payments for my portion? Typically, your portion of payment is expected at the time of service. If you need to arrange a payment plan, we work with Care Credit (www.carecredit.com) for longer term financing. They offer payments up to a year with no interest and payments with interest for up to five years. The application process is very easy and can be done online, on the phone, or here in our office. Once a Care Credit account is secured, we can use this to cover your portion at the time of service, and you can begin making payments to them on your payment plan of choice. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Do you accept credit cards? YES! We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
