Technology

We use advanced dental technologies that are tested and proven to improve our ability to provide you with quality dental care. Take a look at a few of the systems we use.

CBCT 3-D Imaging

CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) is a 3D Imaging tool available at Ellis Family Dentistry. These images allow us to examine our patients’ dental and facial anatomy like never before. We are able to interpret massive amounts of data provided by these scans, allowing us to analyze bone, nerves, sinuses, dental abscesses, and more. We can plan for difficult root canals by visualizing the nerves and canals in 3D. We can virtually plan dental implant surgeries and implant solutions to ensure the best result. Dental CBCT carries far less radiation than traditional CT imaging. The diagnostic quality of these scans is truly amazing, and we are so happy to now have this available right here in our office.

Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral cameras help you see what is happening in your mouth. These cameras let us see the inside of your mouth from different angles and let us get a close-up view of areas where there may be a problem. The images are shown on a monitor so you can see what we see.

Digital X-rays

Digital x-rays are replacing traditional film-based x-rays in dental offices. They let us take a digital image of your mouth, which we can then analyze on a computer. This allows us to take a closer look at your teeth with amazing accuracy, which improves our ability to make a diagnosis. Digital x-rays also use much less radiation than traditional x-rays so they are safer for you and our team.

CEREC

CEREC, or Chairside Economic Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, is a computer-aided design system that produces high-quality ceramic restorations such as crowns on a machine in our office. CEREC lets us take digital impressions, design, produce, and permanently cement a crown in a single appointment.

CariVu (Dexis)

CariVu is a system that uses near-infrared technology to detect cracks and cavities in your teeth. It increases our ability to detect damage that might not be detectable using other tools.
