Tooth Colored Restorations (Fillings)

We use tooth colored (composite) restorations to restore decayed, cracked, and stained teeth. We feel that these fillings are superior to amalgam (mercury) fillings because they allow us to restore decay while maintaining much more of your natural tooth. Amalgam fillings typically require a much larger preparation in the tooth, taking away valuable tooth structure. Tooth colored fillings are also much more aesthetically pleasing, as they match the color of your natural teeth.

If you currently have old amalgam (mercury) fillings, it may be possible for us to replace them with more attractive composite restorations!

Composite can also be used in some cases as an alternative to porcelain veneers. Depending on your tooth structure, it may be possible for the dentist to build composite onto your teeth and sculpt a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Composite materials today are far superior to those used in the past. With new technologies and bonding techniques, the durability of tooth colored fillings is exceptional.
